Owner identity in AlwaysNear-owned messages uses the account owner's first name and last initial (for example, "Caleb B."). If only a first name is available, that first name is shown alone.
A) Invitation SMS (CTA) — AlwaysNear-owned
AlwaysNear App: [Owner FirstName L.] added you as a trusted contact so you can receive important status updates from them. Reply YES to opt in. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
B) Opt-in confirmation (sent immediately after YES) — AlwaysNear-owned

C) HELP — Twilio-managed
Reply HELP is handled by Twilio Opt-Out Management. Twilio sends the HELP response (including support@alwaysnearapp.com). AlwaysNear logs the inbound HELP message but does not send a second HELP SMS.
D) STOP — Twilio-managed
Reply STOP is handled by Twilio Opt-Out Management. Twilio sends the unsubscribe confirmation and blocks further outbound SMS to that number. AlwaysNear records the phone-level opt-out internally.
E) START / UNSTOP — Twilio-managed
Reply START or UNSTOP is handled by Twilio Opt-Out Management. Twilio sends the resubscribe confirmation. AlwaysNear records the phone-level opt-in internally.
Consent checkbox requirement (in-app)
- The consent checkbox is unchecked by default.
- The user must manually check it.
- The "Add contact" / "Save" action is disabled until checked.
- Only after checking does the app send the one-time invitation SMS.
Twilio reviewers: this checkbox is required before an invitation SMS is sent.

FAQ
- How do I opt in?
- Reply YES to the invitation SMS from AlwaysNear App. AlwaysNear activates consent and sends the post-YES confirmation. You will not receive any status updates until you opt in.
- How do I stop messages?
- Reply STOP to opt out. Twilio sends the unsubscribe confirmation; AlwaysNear records the opt-out internally. No further messages will be sent.
- How do I get help?
- Reply HELP. Twilio sends the HELP response. AlwaysNear logs the inbound HELP message.
- Is this marketing?
- No. AlwaysNear App sends only transactional emergency/status updates. No marketing/promotional messages.
