What this program is

Exact message text used

Owner identity in AlwaysNear-owned messages uses the account owner's first name and last initial (for example, "Caleb B."). If only a first name is available, that first name is shown alone.

A) Invitation SMS (CTA) — AlwaysNear-owned

AlwaysNear App: [Owner FirstName L.] added you as a trusted contact so you can receive important status updates from them. Reply YES to opt in. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

B) Opt-in confirmation (sent immediately after YES) — AlwaysNear-owned

AlwaysNear App: You're all set. You'll now receive status updates from [Owner FirstName L.] when they're sent. Download AlwaysNear: https://www.alwaysnearapp.com/download. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

C) HELP — Twilio-managed

Reply HELP is handled by Twilio Opt-Out Management. Twilio sends the HELP response (including support@alwaysnearapp.com). AlwaysNear logs the inbound HELP message but does not send a second HELP SMS.

D) STOP — Twilio-managed

Reply STOP is handled by Twilio Opt-Out Management. Twilio sends the unsubscribe confirmation and blocks further outbound SMS to that number. AlwaysNear records the phone-level opt-out internally.

E) START / UNSTOP — Twilio-managed

Reply START or UNSTOP is handled by Twilio Opt-Out Management. Twilio sends the resubscribe confirmation. AlwaysNear records the phone-level opt-in internally.

  • The consent checkbox is unchecked by default.
  • The user must manually check it.
  • The "Add contact" / "Save" action is disabled until checked.
  • Only after checking does the app send the one-time invitation SMS.

Twilio reviewers: this checkbox is required before an invitation SMS is sent.

Add contact (in-app mock)

When an account owner adds a contact, AlwaysNear App sends ONE invitation SMS asking for consent. The contact must reply YES to opt in.

Add Contact screen showing name and mobile number fields and SMS consent disclosure

Consent is requested before any status updates are sent.
